Taking on the role of COO at Evergreen Coliving came naturally with my background in the Norwegian Armed Forces. Building systems and workflows from nothing as we moved forward gave me a lot of insight on what to do and what not to do. I got to see and remember the importance of the team and how culture is (almost) everything.

As part of the founding team we sat out with the goal of bringing Coliving to Norway. I had to learn the basics of the real estate business, how to create a brand, attract costumers as well as how to communicate with potencial investors and strategic partners.

Continued in HR with managing personell and helped them develop. Worked extensively and developed skills in SAP. Focused on developing senior staff officers for our subunit staffs.

Changed specialization into Human Resources, began as selections officer. It was rewarding to meet and listen to young potential soldiers and leaders. Opening the door for the most promising ones and explain to the rest why they were not selected.

Assigned as project lead on implementing a new battalion level weapons system. Learned a lot about project and resource management. At the same time I supported training officers on company level(subunit).

My greatest privilege and one of the most rewarding jobs i have had. Training and leading my squad leaders and their squads so that we as a section could be a reliable subunit of the company was demanding. Understood the difference between leadership and management and had to work hard on on myself to balance the two.

To teach, train and help developing the leaders of tomorrow was a privilege and a fantastic job. They become a result of you, your actions and your lessons. You learn a lot about leadership when you have to teach and practicing it at the same time. My greatest lessons learned was how to lead by example and to always remember that a leader is a role model in all aspects of life.

My first position as a leader and one of my most exciting and challenging jobs. Training and leading a squad of 8 people, at your own age in arctic climate is a challenge. Learned a lot about myself, how others perceived me and to motivate members of the team.

My first taste of a real working life was at Boys of Europe, a retail chain for mens fashion. I learned a lot about collaboration, had some really good role models in my coworkers and the store manager. Worked part time besides my studies.
