My name is Eddie and I’m the current president and founder of the Tackle 22 Fishing Foundation Inc. We are a 501(c)3 that provides fishing excursions for veterans and active duty service members. This simple gesture saved my own life while serving in the Marine Corps. The Marine that saved my life by offering an opportunity to go fishing with him, sadly took his own 8 years later. Tackle 22 Fishing strives to bring awareness, prevention, and intervention to the tragedy that is the national average of 22 veteran suicides a day. Veterans that take part in a fishing trip with us experience a no pressure environment with an experienced angler in a safe environment with state of the art equipment. We strive to connect any veteran to necessary resources, as well as networking veterans on our trips with other veterans that have have been with us in the past to create and build upon the local network of like minded people. This network, this community has created several lasting friendships and inspires our nation’s war fighters to look out for each other, like many of us did on active duty.
