I joined Mazars Corporate Finance in May 2014 as a Senior Executive. Iwas brought into the company in order to increase the skill levels of the team, in particularly with regards to valuations and financial modelling. In September 2014, I was promoted to Associate Director and since then has been the assignment leader in most of the company’s valuation and financial modelling projects.During this time, I have done work on and for the companies in the oil & gas, asset management and property industries.In addition, I have worked on confidential acquisitions and capital raises (sell side mandate) in the food, electrical, renewable energy, and film and media sectors (transaction value over R100,000,000 each).As an Associate Director, I am involved in all stages of an assignment, from initial meetings with client, assigning work to team members (and monitoring junior members), performing the assignment and presenting the final report.I am also tasked with growing and maintaining a network of clients and potential clients in order to source work for the company.

Following retrenchment in 2012 due to the closing down of my previous employer and the birth of my first child, I took time out of industry to raise his child.In this period, I maintained contact with his network and performed several small consulting jobs on the back of his reputation in the market. Most notably the financial modelling for a solar project.It was through maintaining these relationships that I was approached to take up a position at Mazars Corporate Finance in 2014.

I joined Basileus Capital as an Analyst in 2009 - in order challenge myself and extend my learning in a different environment.In the analyst role, I was expected to prepare reports analysing the market, companies and opportunities in specific sectors for presentation to the Associates, Associate Directors and Directors. As an analyst, Edward worked on and the following sectors:* Iron-ore* Gold* MicrofinanceOn the back of my microfinance and deal structure reports, I was promoted to the Associate position.As an Associate, I was required to assist the Associate Directors in working on new deals being undertaken by the business.In this role, I was putting together deals in the following sectors:* Uranium mining* Gas to liquids* Gold miningFurther, I involved himself in assisting his colleagues at the company in their deals, furthering my knowledge in various deal structures as well as in the industries, including aquaculture, infrastructure and super alloy.

In 2007, I started working at Moores Rowland Corporate Finance (later becoming Mazars Corporate Finance) in a junior role.I quickly established himself as a valuations expert in the team and was put in charge of all valuation assignments at the company following a succession of quick promotions to Senior Executive. I was also involved in several due diligence assignments.In this position, I had exposure to various industries, most notably performing work in the pharmaceutical and construction sectors.
