Graduate Research AssistantUniversity Of Calgary May 2019 - Sep 2019At Hotchkiss Brain institute at the University of Calgary, my job was to develop surrogate models for ischemic stroke events. By taking categorized MRI images, I utilized support vector machines in combination with genetic algorithms to determine the contribution coefficients for specific lesion regions caused by the ischemic stroke events. I created multivariate models to fit the core-penumbra datasets and the ESVM that I developed can quantify the relationship between lesion area and mRS severity. Student EngineerHotspot Cooktop 2018 - 2019Calgary, Alberta, CanadaOur capstone project involved the development of a smart stove that has heating elements at any location on the surface. My role was the development of the Lower Control Unit (LCU) control software. Input commands would be received from the Upper Control Unit which would then need to be translated into real time power control of the 64 separate heating units. The lower control system that I designed can respond dynamically to any request and also has checks to ensure power was regulated correctly. -
Research AssistantNippon Telegraph And Telephone 2017 - 2018Atsugi, Kanagawa, JapanAt the NTT Basic Research Laboratories, my job was to develop nano-cavities for light based communication relays. Using Comsol Multiphysics, I designed novel photonic cavities for use in current-injected nano-lasers. By FDTD numerical simulation analysis, I calculated the light bandgap for lattices of silicon composites. I also conducted cryostat measurements using a micro-photoluminescence setup to determine the efficacy of designed nano-lasers.
