Working with many cross-functional teams across all military branches I developed, planned, and managed the integration of military and commercial communications systems for 33 joint military and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) counterdrug and counter transnational threat missions resulting in greatly enhanced inter-agency collaboration capabilities and the introduction of new capabilities to both federal and local law enforcement agencies. Additionally, I served as the lead project planner and developer for an initiative which provided live video feeds during day-to-day field operations throughout the DHS network. This enabled higher levels of collaboration, safety and apprehensions along the southwest border and greatly aided in the refinement of tactics, techniques, and procedures used by Customs and Border Patrol field agents and Border Patrol Tactical Units. I was also responsible for researching and managing the procurement, training, and employment for emerging technologies and services that greatly enhance the units support capabilities and creating more options during the development of operational plans. Prior to my departure I was hand-picked by the Commanding General to research and develop a secure cross-border communications solution. After publishing two informational papers and putting together an inter-agency team a design plan to procure and field a secure voice solution was successfully introduced. During my time as the unit's Communications Chief I designed and managed the installation and operation of seven tactical communications networks in austere locations successfully providing various data and network services to all the unit departments. As a collateral duty I was selected to fill the Equal Opportunity Representative role for my unit and successfully maintained the units Equal Opportunity program providing training, guidance and grievance resolutions for over 580 personnel in the unit and twice receiving a score of 100% during annual compliance inspections. Additionally, I managed the accountability and maintenance of all communications equipment worth in excess of $12 million dollars and maintained the highest equipment readiness levels of all the departments in the unit during the biannual maintenance inspection with a final score of 95%.

Engaged with the development and execution of cyber security plans, policies, and procedures in a newly formed cyber security section while ensuring alignment and compliance with existing DoD, National Security Agency and Defense Information Systems Agency regulations. My team tracked, reported, and validated the compliance of over 450 Operational Directives on the classified network for the entire Western Pacific region accomplishing 100% vulnerability compliance of more than 700 workstations, server, and network assets.
