A senior technical manager/President with more than 30 years of environmental assessment and remediation experience. Founded Advanced Geologic Sciences, LLC, (AGS-LLC) in 2013 as a company dedicated to managing contaminant issues associated with chemical/petroleum releases. Specialized in inhalation assessments , near surface geologic studies, managing OHSA health and safety issues and treatment of a wide range of contaminants. To support these activities, I created various proprietary techniques to define/mitigate contaminates, identify/predict their migration pathways and am the patent holder of multiple “Green” extraction methods to mitigate soil and groundwater contaminates associated commercial and residential properties.

Senior Geologist/Project ManagerLjb Inc. 1998 - 2012Dayton, Ohio AreaAs the Senior Geologist/Project Manager, I was responsible for the implementation and technical proficiency of geologic/environmental services provided at LJB. I demonstrated technical and managerial expertise on investigation and research projects that I completed including those associated with the LEED “green” certification process. I provided technical expertise on hundreds of projects over 14 years, which included 90+ Phase I/II ASTM Environmental Site Assessments, 4 Ohio EPA Voluntary Action Program Property Assessments, 20+ Inhalation Assessments, 5 Human Health Risk Assessments and dozens of other investigations (e.g. NEPA, Radiation and ACM Assessments) for Federal, state and industrial clients.I served on the LJB corporate Health and Safety committee dealing with those programmatic issues. In addition, over the years I became better versed in the implementation of various state and Federal environmental regulatory programs (including NEPA, USTs, OSHA, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, RCRA, CERCLA, and NRC exposure issues) and routinely developed health and safety as well as quality assurance project (QAP) documents. During my employment at LJB I implemented a number of independent research projects using processes and/or materials I developed that led to professional presentations or publications. These include; 1) developing basin-wide XRF-based lithostratigraphy; 2) defining dermal impacts/mortality from exposure to select compounds; 3) designing statistical techniques to define the timing and migration routes of sediments; and 4) defining diagenetic variability via redox boundary changes in sediment using field geochemical methods. -
Geoscience ManagerApplied Natural Science, Inc. (Ans) 1997 - 1998Cincinnati, Ohio AreaAs the Geoscience Manager I utilized my technical experiences in developing innovative phytoremedial designs and implementing those designs for a variety of Fortune 500 and Federal clients. I demonstrated technical/managerial proficiency on the various investigations I conducted. This included managing personnel and subcontractors as well as conducting performance reviews/audits of the tasks conducted by ANS and other parties. My project specific responsibilities also included marketing, reviewing existing site documents and information; developing project scopes of work (i.e. project plans, models, budgets, etc.); directing subcontracted services; collecting and analyzing performance data; and developing and presenting reports to clients. Other tasks included presentations with various regulatory agencies involved with projects. During the implementation of project activities, contract management and meeting performance requirements were my primary concerns.

Senior Hydrogeologist And Geological Discipline ManagerRust Environment And Infrastructure, Inc. (Rust E&I) 1991 - 1997Cincinnati, Ohio AreaI was responsible for project development activities of the tri-state Geoscience Group. As the Geological Discipline Manager I was also responsible for the technical training of Rust E&I personnel in the implementation of innovative practices related to geologic assessments and in developing complex technical solutions for Federal and industrial clients. My areas of study included remedial actions; hydrogeologic and landfill assessments; radionuclide tracer investigations; statistical analysis and computer modeling; underground storage tank/railroad assessments; air assessments; and emergency responses. As part of my responsibilities I also conducted performance reviews/audits of staff and contractor activities on large CERCLA/RCRA project. These audits included identifying the process, as needed, to rectify any identified deficiencies. As with all project activities, client interactions occurred on a daily basis. In addition, I routinely interacted and negotiated with various regulatory agencies on project/program issues.

Group Leader / Sr. Project ManagerHazardous Waste Remedial Action Program, Martin Marietta Energy Systems (Hazwrap) 1989 - 1991Oak Ridge, TennI served as Technical Manager for HAZWRAP, a DOE Program associated with their operations in Oak Ridge Tennessee and elsewhere. This program provided technical, management, on-site representation and contractor staff as part of the “Works for Other Program” at federal facilities located across the United States. While in the Oak Ridge office I managed the activities of six engineers/geologists and 100s of subcontractor personnel working at 23 federal facilities in 18 states.During my last 12 months with HAZWRAP I was promoted to Sr. Project Manager, opened an office in Dayton, Ohio and was responsible for the day-to-day management of HAZWRAP contractor activities on 56 operable units at Wright Patterson AFB. Also during this period I and my two primary subcontractors (ES and SAIC) completed approximately $70M of work including developing program/project documents for the various sites and conducting hundreds of geologic assessments at this NPL facility. I was responsible for a wide range of other project activities as a senior technical manager both in Oak Ridge and at Wright Patterson AFB that included contract review, cost estimating and conducting field activities as defined in the site work plans that were negotiated with/approved by the applicable government agencies (i.e. DoD, Ohio EPA and US EPA). I also developed technical white papers for project activities associated with DOE, US EPA and Ohio EPA.

Project Manager/HydrogeologistRollins Environment Services, Inc . (Res) 1987 - 1989Houston, Texas AreaI was responsible for the implementation and management of geologic assessments at NPL and RCRA sites across the USA. I was involved in all phases of environmental management, computer modeling and quantitative field studies. I also developed the first agency-accepted "gravity feed low flow leachate collection remedial system" in the State of Texas to mitigate VOCs migrating from a historical burn pit at the former Army Air Corps Base in Greenville Texas.
