I teach a three-credit class plus one-credit lab called ECET (electrical and computer engineering technology) 365 - Electrical Measurements. I devote 1/2 of the class to teaching the students the LabVIEW programming langauge, 1/4 to teaching data acquisition, and 1/4 to teaching data analysis. I teach this class every Fall semester, and it is part of a certificate program in computer controlled systems.

I teach a "special topics” course through the Mechanical Engineering Department which covers the LabVIEW programming language, instrumentation, data acquisition, and data analysis. This class is three credit-hours and is an elective for electrical, mechanical, and biomedical engineering majors. The number of students has been 11 per class, and attendees are traditional college students as well as exchange students primarily from Brazil.

I was the Lead Test Engineer for the Small and Specialty Motors division of GE Power Conversion. I acted as the test lab manager, prioritizing incoming test requests, scheduling equipment and personnel resources, and ensuring the requesting engineer’s test requirements and timeframe were met. I supervised 7 people who tested electric motors (per IEEE 112, NEMA MG-1, etc.) and performed motor modifications for customers. Projects included working with the Indiana and Ohio EPA, performing environmental audits on two facilities, designing and monitoring installation of an air filtering system, designing a pneumatic system for product transportation, ADA handicapped ramp design and installation, supervision of high school students, supervision of a laboratory upgrade, and supervision of sanitary pump installation.
