• Developed and executed foundation communications strategies for Nigeria’s three-year wild polio-free mark, World Polio Day and the GPEI pledging moment at the Reaching the Last Mile Forum in Abu Dhabi.
• Briefed and staffed leadership for top-tier media interviews, including with New York Times, Politico, STAT, and Reuters.
• Led on crisis communications for the polio team, including developing proactive crisis communications strategies for BMGF and reputation management for GPEI.
• Drafted opinion pieces for senior leadership, including Bill Gates, to support GPEI resource mobilization efforts.

• Secured top-tier media coverage for HRI research, including pieces in TIME, AP, Al Jazeera, and The Guardian, as well as coverage in sub-Saharan Africa and southeast Asia tied to major publications.
• Designed and conducted a branding exercise to refine the organization’s ‘boilerplate’ – in line with organizational restructuring - and to ensure consistency across all teams in how they presented HRI’s work.
• Led communications for HRI’s biennial international conference, HR19, in Porto, which included organizing press conferences, arranging speaker briefings and invites to high-level delegates, speech writing for the.
• Trained staff on public speaking in advance of presentations at conferences/events.

• Designed and executed communications strategies across digital and traditional media to advance the Gates Foundation’s global health advocacy goals.
• Led media efforts around publication of a study on a new typhoid vaccine, which resulted in a feature in The New York Times, and extensive coverage in outlets in sub-Saharan Africa.
• Supported BMGF with the development of key messages, tough Q&As and talking points for senior foundation representatives.
• Worked with UNFPA to revise the agency’s key messages on family planning supplies and helped conduct an extensive donor scan to aid resource mobilization efforts.

• Periodically advised on communications for the Public Health Program. Produced a variety of written materials on issues including housing for marginalized populations and access to essential medicines.
• Co-authored paper for Harvard’s Health and Human Rights Journal on how drug policy hinders access to controlled medicines.

• Managed Release’s external communications. Regularly secured coverage in UK top-tier media for the organization in line with its advocacy goals, and prepped staff for broadcast appearances.
• Ran communications trainings for human rights advocates from Latin America, Asia and sub-Saharan Africa.
• Co-authored Release’s report on drug decriminalization and two reports for the Global Commission on Drug Policy – The Negative Impact of Drug Control on Public Health and Advancing Drug Policy Reform.
• Presented at national and international conferences on Release’s work, including at the United Nations in Vienna, and lectured at the University of London on drug policy and human rights.
• Briefed parliamentarians on UK drugs legislation and co-authored several policy briefings for MPs and Select Committees into government proposals on drug laws.

• Wrote 5-10 articles per week on issues ranging from human rights and organized crime in the Americas and Caribbean, to police corruption and displacement.
• Managed research project for the European Union, creating security and justice policy briefing papers on 34 countries in the region. Responsible for delegating country profiles to staff and ensuring that all content.
• Interviewed government and non-government officials for research on feature-length articles.

• Contributed over 200 articles on topics including Colombia’s conflict, domestic politics, and US foreign policy.
