Chief Financial Officer
Mcbu Wells Engineer Intern
I was responsible for two major projects, the first of which focused on improving processes centered around WellSafe, and the second focused on analyzing the method used to remove drilling waste in Midland. I reviewed and updated all the drilling EAR (WellSafe Execution Assurance Requirement) templates for the Mid-Continent Business Unit (MCBU). This reduced user error and more importantly ensured engineers in the field would operate under the same instructions and expectations. Utilizing SQL database connections, I was able to improve the functionality of an interactive Excel tool, linked to WellSafe software, to reduce errors and user time. The modifications prevented incorrect inputs and provided engineers with the most up to date version and content of the EAR checklist templates. Thereby saving approximately 1 hour of engineers' time for each instance of checklist creation. I successfully evaluated removal options for well site cuttings in Midland in conjunction with a risk assessment study. I facilitated and executed a risk assessment involving representatives from numerous internal company functions and external company contractors. In doing so, I determined the possible associated risks and the necessary safeguards. Following the completion of this, I developed a recommendation based on the new waste removal option that was estimated to save 18%. In accompaniment, I created a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) document which included key performance indicators (KPI) to aid in the assessment of the new waste disposal method.
Undergraduate Student Researcher
Assisted with research in the irradiation of polymers for biomedical implementations.
Aspire Engineering & Technology Intern
I was responsible for work on a high pressure test to aid in the design of a U-Cup through the use of a bump plate geometry. This was designed to be loaded axially in order to determine the defining point at which the piece sealed, using both load and internal pressure as defining characteristics. The hope was that this would allow for a translation of the data to have significance for the U-Cup when loaded radially. As problems were experienced during the test, troubleshooting of accuracy issues with the load cell and the pressure system was required to facilitate the continuation of the test procedure. I helped to analyze data to develop a risk assessment needed to resolve serious issues with annulus seals not sealing and setting correctly. My main project involved assisting in the redesign of anti-rotation keys for use in subsea connectors as a way of preventing the connectors from separating after they had been torqued.
Mechanical Engineering Intern
I completed research and analyzed water quality reports and water analyses using Excel and WaterPro in order to ascertain the root cause of a water quality issue for a city in the Houston area. I aided in the presentation of this information to the Houston city and offered a range of solutions, from which a solution was implemented. I completed water sampling at various locations around the North Houston area, and completed analyses of the data that was reported from the samples. I completed research and composed several white papers regarding recent, relevant water quality issues which were submitted to the professional water quality magazine TexasH2O. (Position held intermittently May to July 2018 and December 2018 to January 2019.)
3D- Modeling Team Leader
I was the team leader for the 3-D Modeling group in the Advanced Vapor Compression Desalination research team. I coordinated with the team members and delegated tasks based on various and differing skill sets. As a team, we worked with 3-D Modeling software SolidWorks to create and adjust designs based on the required specifications of the final product. This updated model was utilized in creating the presentation for the Aggie Virtual Showcase, in which the research team won first place.
Swimming Coach
I coached children of all ages on the correct swimming technique. I also worked with young children who did not yet know how to swim or were having learning challenges.
Student Intern
I worked as a student intern during my senior year of high school as part of a one-year industrial experience in which I shadowed and studied the work of a lab analyst in the field of Flow Assurance.
