As an Industrial Hygienist Supervisor for the State of Washington Department of Labor and Industries I lead a team of five who inspect employers to confirm that Washington safety and health regulations are being followed.As OIT’s Risk Management Director, I was responsible for developing risk management procedures to protect the campus assets, community members and minimize liability. I also coordinated the placement of ancillary insurance programs and processes for student coverage. This included web-based enrollment processes and liability waiver forms. This trending information was used to develop response actions focused toward reducing injuries. As the emergency preparedness coordinator for the campus, I ensured that all emergency responders were properly trained and certified.
