Working as part of the research and development team during my industrial placement year. My work included refining old cross-country ski products and developing new ones. During my time at Rottefella, I worked on a total of 6 different projects, 2 of which have been released into the market this year. My duties included: creating hand drawn sketching and transforming them into 3D CAD models in Solidworks. Rapidly prototyping these concepts and finishing them to a high functional and aesthetic standard. Testing of prototypes in the field using a methodical critical approach. Engineering mathematics, calculations and simulations to determine the possible capabilities of different products. Testing different elements of products in the lab, using impact and tension testing machines. Working in the workshop machining more durable prototypes (milling, drilling and grinding mostly). Assisting in injection mold design process, preparing models for molding by making changes in a high precision environment. Holding meetings to discuss my projects and coordinating a team effort to achieve the set goals.

Creating and building on the shop floor in a steel architectural workshop. Operating welding equipment and various types of machinery. Working with a wide range of tools and finishes.

Working on the shop floor replacing and replenishing the stock. Helping customers with different tasks. Operating Checkouts and dealing with money. Store operations, date code checking and appearance. Delicatessen counter and management of a small team.

Work experience - Working on the shop floor programming the engraving and cutting lasers. Creating in the design studio, technical 3D designs and models for clients (for example Sony). Taking calls in customer support, replying to emails and calls.
