In the last few years of working in a corporate office in healthcare, I have developed skills in managing a Learning Management System and working with a team to achieve common goals for the benefit of the health system through collaboration on multiple projects, developing knowledge in excel, powerpoint, and word.While teaching, I developed skills in organization, planning, and culture-setting. I was able to create engaging lesson plans by reviewing and modifying plans that worked or didn't work both from the past and from colleagues. Keeping plans and policies organized facilitated ease of planning and minimized confusion when unexpected events occurred (emergency drills, classroom interruptions, etc.). Creating a classroom culture of respect and safety was established through clear procedures and example-setting, and addressing issues as they arose to redirect behavior and set the expectation.These skills can translate to any profession because they're grounded in self-discipline and community building. I can utilize these skills to stay professional and punctual at any job while also being able to work with others and create an inviting team environment.
