As a seasoned executive in the Dell legal department, I have had the privilege of supporting a wide variety of business units (e.g., Corporate, Commercial, Global Supply Chain). And while each client set has its own unique set of challenges and goals, my job (whether as an individual contributor or leading a team) is to partner with the business in a creative and collaborative fashion in order to facilitate those goals. Along the way, I bring an engagement model that seeks to intelligently balance risk with the opportunities presented by executing on the strategic vision. Solving hard problems together (whether with your team members or the client) is what makes the practice of law so rewarding.I began my career at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP (Am Law Top 25), which provided a world class apprenticeship in a variety of corporate legal matters. In 2011, I joined Dell to provide legal and regulatory support for various business units developing new product offerings and taking them to market (including SaaS and cloud). Thereafter, I was promoted to lead Dell’s M&A/Venture Legal Team, where I was the lead negotiator for M&A transactions and provided material support to all other significant corporate transactions (e.g., venture, IPOs, financings). As the lead negotiator on major transactions, I had the opportunity to work on the then-largest technology M&A deal ($67B), a recapitalization in connection with Dell going public for the second time, and a spin-off of Dell’s ownership in VMware. Subsequently, I was promoted to lead the North American Legal Team serving as the key advisor to 125 of Dell’s largest and most strategic global accounts. In that role I was also tasked with developing a unified team culture that focused on excellence and accountability (following the Dell/EMC merger it was important to create a new culture that everyone could embrace). My career continued to grow and expand when I was next given the opportunity to lead the Global Channel Legal Team primarily focused on compliance. Most recently, I’ve been asked to lead legal support for Dell’s Global Operations, Supply Chain, and Procurement business units.I’m known for providing business-enabling commercial advice to drive revenue, collaborating with various business leaders and C-suite executives as a trusted advisor and partner, using creativity to maximize outcomes, and leading high-performing teams to pursue the strategic vision of the business.
