I began writing following the death of my father from a disease that mimics Parkinson's disease, and found that it was very rewarding and instructional to others in the nursing profession. Published seven articles in AJN, RN, Orthopedic Nursing Journal, Geriatric Nursing, and Nursing Advance. As a middle-school, science teacher, I wrote a juvenile, fantasy-fiction novel which was published and popular among my students. My goal now is to 'break into' the screenwriting business by having screenplays I've written to be optioned and produced. I have completed the Pro Series Screenwriting Course by Hal Croasmun, and searching for a producer or manager the gels with my approach in entertainment.Two feature length scripts, "Dream Vacay"" and "Snapshot", were finalists and in the top ten in screenplay competitions - Beverly Hills Screenplay Competition, World Series of Screenwriting, and Reel Authors International. Both scripts have a coverage recommend from Barb Doyon, founder of Extreme Screenwriting.Co-writer of the story and TV pilot for a producer in Europe. Production is scheduled in September 2015 in Malta A nondisclosure agreement does not permit me to say anything more."Simon's Rescue" is a historical, Biblical drama based upon events from the book of Act, chapter 12. Wrote the high-concept, feature length script based upon the "mini-movie" concept with each 8 to 12 page segment as a stand-alone movie. It's exciting.My first short is inspired by a true story, entitled, "In Tyler's Shoes." It's a bittersweet inspirational story of a handicapped boy who garners recognition and applause as a substitute player in a little league, baseball game. My latest short, "Reindeer for Ransom", is a cute children's story in which several of Santa's reindeer are kidnapped two days before Christmas. Currently working on a murder for hire story in which a hot-air balloon is the crime scene.
