A Police officer works with communities and the public to maintain law and order. They investigate crime, gather evidence and bring offenders to court. I normally work in excess of 40 hours a week on a shift system, which includes nights, weekends and public holidays. During the last 7 years I have specialized: Police Support Unit (PSU), National Public Order Tactical Trainer (NPOTTC), Taser Officer, Chemical Biological Radio-logical & Nuclear (CBRN) Officer, Method of Entry (MOE) Officer. And since July 2014 I have been part of the training team, taking student Police Officers through the first 20 weeks of their Initial Police Learning and Development Programme (IPLDP), which is split into four stages. The stages cover wide-ranging training, including policing skills, legislation, investigative methods, community partnership working and professional standards. Offer advice and guidance to individuals required to compile Testimonials & Valedictory Certificates for personnel under their command.Appraisals Clerk - Responsible for the compilation, co-ordination, and issuing of reports. Ensuring that all reports were raised, issued, hastened, checked, recorded, and dispatched within the set time parameters. And maintaining the databases for all Annual, Posting/Entry into training and deferred reports.Personnel Clerk - Responsible for 380+ personnel, with increases to 760 or even 1140 due to absences. Maintaining and updating local databases, process all computer outputs and manual applications.Calculation ration accounts and dealing with discrepancies. Complete monthly checks required by senior officers. Correctly administrate personnel movements and prepare documentation required for each movement. Ensure that the inputs and documents reach their destinations within the time restrictions and resolving discrepancies. Show less
