Selected by both the C3I division and the Marlin/Frontier programs to act as the lead technician because of my experience, assembly knowledge and ability to provide input into the system design and manufacturability. Developed a system to track all the production assemblies and keep track of their pedigree. Maintain the schedule for the C3I programs that are in production in the AMC high bay and provide daily task assignments to the members of the Fabrication & Assembly team. Determined and set up a plan to pair newly hired technicians with the experienced personnel within C3I to mentor and provide training in the tasks required on various supported programs. Provide input into the production layout and requirements for the new C3I high bay (opened March 2021). Coordinate with Program and Manufacturing Engineering daily to ensure that the multiple programs presently in production are being worked in the most efficient way possible. Kept production moving forward with little or no supervision on four programs while maintaining a safe and comfortable working environment during the COVID Emergency.

Lead technician tasked with the production and integration of the Frontier III phased array antenna system. The success of Frontier III led to the award of a second Frontier system. The ability to complete both those programs ahead of schedule and under budget awarded us the next generation large scale/high power phased array antenna system. Worked in the advanced imaging department to test, integrate, and calibrate Ball’s High Accuracy Star Tracker systems that included setup and support ESS testing throughout the integration cycle from component to space flight vehicle level. Supervised the fabrication of the Advanced Methane and Propane Leak Detection LIDAR research and development project contributing to its design, assembly, and flight tests.

Assigned to the telemetry department at the Development Flight Center where primary duties are to setup, operate, and maintain L-Band tracking antenna systems to follow aircraft and receive a telemetry stream to provide real time systems monitoring capabilities. Proficient in the use of automated and manual tracking systems and the associated equipment required to extract data from the received PCM stream. Other responsibilities required are to utilize and maintain instrumentation for flight test programs to process onboard data recordings and upload them to a central network server for engineering evaluation. Duties also include the operation and management of the Development Center network video system.

Responsible for the design, development, and test of launch vehicle avionics components and subsystems onboard the Blue Origin Propulsion Module (PM-1/PM-2) vehicles. Primary integration engineer tasked with the design and implementation of a mechanically released T-0 electrical umbilical system. Other accomplishments include the integration of the complete vehicle wiring system including the design, layout, and signal pin outs for the associated cable harnesses needed on the next generation vehicle. Selected and installed special instrumentation that included strain gauges, pressure transducers, accelerometers, microphones, RPM sensors, and thermocouples. Licensed by the BATF as an explosives possessor and contributed to the design of ordinance test sets and procedures for their use. Participated in the launch, recovery, and refurbishment of the PM-1 launch vehicle as the avionics focal. Provided the requirements and design for the launch site EGSE to provide real time telemetry monitoring and control to the vehicle from the Operations Support Center.

Field technician position at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station included the fabrication, installation, repair, operation and verification of mechanical, structural, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic systems, ground support equipment, computers, telemetry, optical, electromechanical equipment, test equipment, and assembly aids for launch and spacecraft systems and subsystems at launch and test sites. Assembled, tested and aided in the launch of the Delta rocket as a launch crewmember certified in all launch technician positions. Worked with and assisted system engineering with the analysis and development of procedures, methods, and techniques for implementation of launch processes and testing.

Launch Systems Technician responsible of operating and maintaining an Intelsat external communications system while operating at sea for extended periods with little or no supervision. Worked as the Communications and Display Specialist in the Launch Control Center where duties included performing pre, post and real-time telemetry data processing through a LAN/WAN to display essential mission management information. Processed flight hardware from initial receipt of the spacecraft through launch including spacecraft mate, encapsulation and transfer to the launch vessels while monitoring accelerometer and environmental data to maintain conditions necessary to ensure the health of the satellite.

Cape Canaveral Air Force Station

Worked as an electro-mechanical technician on the Initial Upper Stage two stage solid rocket motor from the initial parts received through launch onboard the Titan IV and Space Shuttle using engineering drawings and procedures. Operations included all aspects of buildup, testing, spacecraft mate and launch telemetry processing. NASA certified to work on flight hardware in a clean room environment. Worked on the US Lab portion of the International Space Station installing fiber optics and plumbing systems to ready the module for flight.
