 Provide the management and leadership to the Integration Test & Evaluation (IT&E) Shipyard team Management of the trials program within the East Coast Shipyard (day-to-day trials execution and coordination). Creating a trials schedule that optimizes resource availability (hardware, software, and personnel) Management of all Trial documentation including reviewing, approval and delivery Host/Chair Trial Readiness Reviews and Trial Acceptance meetings with DND Coordinating all Harbour and Sea Acceptance Trials (HATs/SATs) Reviewing all Test/Trial Reports and documentation Hosting Trial Readiness Reviews with DND Clearly communicating the priorities of the day to the team at large to ensure timely resolution to key problems Ensuring all system integration activities (including Set to Work (STW), HATs, SATs) are properly staffed and that proper support is made available to enable timely resolution to all defects Engaging the East Coast Scheduler to improve the long term planning of the East Coast Shipyard IT&E activities Conduct of daily team meetings to ensure proper communication of priorities and coordination of multiple concurrent activities. System Problem Report (SPR) management: prioritization and closure, ensuring that the team manages the creation, investigation and closure process in an effective manner that ensures that the program moves along smoothly without undue burden Support technical investigations into combat system integration problems Attending program review and coordination meetings with DND to ensure proper communications and coordination of IT&E activities

 Responsible for the activation and operation of the Combat System Computing Environment (CSCE) including Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications, configuration and computer program operation and interface with other subsystems Work as part of the Integration and test team at the HCM Land Based Test Site (LBTS) and onboard ship  Responsible for writing trial agendas and test procedures used to verify the integration and acceptance of subsystem integration, system performance and system functionality  Responsible for supporting the creation and conduct of the Engineering Assessments to be conducted at each software build Identify and resolve Combat System Interface issues Conducting formal trials with Department of National Defence Reviewing and evaluating test plans, procedures and trials Evaluating/Attending First Article Acceptance Trials (FAAT) Evaluating/Attending Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) with subcontractors to ensure equipment is compliant with specs  Reviewing Subcontractor Delivery Requirements and act as the approving authority  Ensure HCM equipment is tested in accordance with the Combat System Integration Specifications

 Responsible to the Commanding Officer for the technical readiness of equipment, personnel and the reporting of significant equipment defects including all corrective and planned maintenance Carry out the duties of Ammunition Officer including ammunition accounting and expenditure messages, ensuring the safety, stowage and handling of all ammunition and explosives Employment as the Unit Non-ionizing Electromagnetic Radiation Hazards Officer and be responsible to the Commanding Officer for maintaining the non-ionizing electromagnetic radiation hazard safety program  Organizing, coordinating, and supervising the training of Naval Combat Systems Engineering Officers Under Training Manage departmental finances and approval of departmental expenditures  Ensuring personnel comply with DND General Safety Program, DND Explosives Safety Program and Environmental Protection and Hazardous Materials Management  Manage all administrative, divisional and planned maintenance tasks for the Combat Systems Engineering Department  Conduct performance evaluations and monitor the training of individual members of the Combat Systems Engineering Department

Administering the investigation, reporting and compilation of Hazardous Occurrence Investigation Report to ensure its timeliness and correctness  Develop, Manage and maintain an effective occupational safety and environmental program  Performing the functions of organizer and secretary for meetings of the Unit General Safety Committee  Develop occupational safety and environmental training programs  Writing reports, guides, directives and other documents concerning workplace safety and environmental compliance Conduct investigations, analyze information, producing relevant correspondence and reports  Administering and coordinating the completion of a Safety Program Development Evaluation Technique (SPDET) annually and other safety audits  Producing, publicizing and maintaining written safety related policy and procedures and other related orders  Providing safety consultation services and advice to Division Commanders and their appointed Division Safety Officers  Promoting safety awareness and enhancing individual personal attitudes towards safety and accident prevention  Manage and coordinate all aspects of building infrastructure within the unit including work priority and fund allocation  Plan, coordinate and chair infrastructure committee meetings
