Prior to forming Nash Partnership in 1988 my professional career included work in local government offices handling heritage environments, work for the eminent landscape architect Sir Geoffrey Jellicoe and experience in the regeneration of historic town centres. I use my experience of how the historic towns and cities evolve to show how new social, cultural, economic and environmental values can be built up, win support for developmental change and create the financial viability that they need to be successful. Much of my current work involves preparing regeneration strategy in areas challenged by rapid change employment decline or failing social and cultural identity, within a professional approach known as Spatio-Temporal Economic Modelling. I chair an advisory group for Bath and North East Somerset Council which is showing how the 30km of river within the Council’s district can be the focus of new social, cultural and economic regeneration. In 2011 I was appointed to serve on the West of England Local Enterprise Partnership Planning and Infrastructure Group, set up to align the interests and knowledge of business with the necessary planning and investment needs of the region.
