Green Building Project Developer:• Working with LEED-certified architect, advanced the design, development, contracting, fundraising, permitting, financing, and construction of a $3 million renovation and addition to an historic Community House Lyceum, including passive solar design, structural insulating panels, energy efficient lighting and HVAC, recycled materials, environmental health and safety features, water conservation, and storm water management, while also advancing the goals of historic preservation, improved accessibility, functionality, and affordability. • Supervised the design and construction of a $750,000 green bathhouse at a residential summer camp, with composting toilets, sustainably-sourced wood, and water and energy efficiency features.• Participated in planning the green renovation of historic office building on Capitol Hill with LEED certified architects. Provided public interpretation of the green building design elements to members of Congress, Congressional staff, the Architect of the Capitol and the general public upon completion.Climate Change Solutions Educator and Advocate:• Established new legislative advocacy program on Capitol Hill to reduce U.S. oil dependence, advance international security, and prevent harmful climate change.• Lobbied congressional staff, members of Congress, and the Executive Branch on climate, energy, and other policy topics.• Worked in coalition with religious and environmental organizations on Capitol Hill.• Made presentations on climate change prevention and mitigation, sustainable bioenergy systems, and related policy trends at government, industry, environmental, and religious conferences and workshops across the U.S.
