Trained machine learning models to identify the most relevant weather alerts and trends, then wrote code to ingest 3rd party data sources, run the selection model, and turn the data into readable posts with charts/images-Trained a gradient boosting classifier to identify posts about national politics, which are not allowed on Nextdoor’s main feed. The model was used to downrank these posts, which led to a 20% reduction in views of this content

-Led a 6 month project with 6 team members to predict the landing location of a golf ball from slow-motion footage of the first 10-15 feet of the shot’s trajectory. Used an open source image recognition package and a Random Forest classifier to locate the ball in each frame, and a linear regression to translate those locations into a predicted landing spot. We developed a web app to showcase the prediction and I presented it to VCs.-Used k-means clustering and silhouette scores to identify temperature sensors that moved in tandem, which was then used to reduce office building HVAC operating costs by 10%

-Conducted equity research and valuation for a private wealth manager.-Wrote R script to download fund holdings from SEC website for two different quarters, compute differences in allocation and performance, and write the results to an Excel spreadsheet.-Revised the portfolio manager's Excel valuation template to increase accuracy and usability and decrease file size and calculation time.
