About Edward Phiri

Edward Phiri has over 12 years of experience in leading and facilitating transboundary law enforcement and collaboration to combat illegal wildlife trade and protect natural resources and biodiversity. As the Director of the Lusaka Agreement Task Force, a regional law enforcement organization on wildlife crimes, he oversees the implementation of enforcement interventions, policy and technical support, and capacity-building initiatives for member countries and partners.With a Master of Science degree in management, access and conservation of species in trade, a Bachelor of Technology degree in nature conservation, and diplomas in multilateral environmental agreements and natural resource management, Edward has a strong academic background and a deep understanding of the international framework and best practices for wildlife conservation. He has also published journal articles, contributed to the Wildlife Enforcement Monitoring System, and provided expertise to decision-making bodies such as the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora. Edward is passionate about safeguarding our planet's precious wildlife and promoting sustainable development and cooperation among countries and stakeholders.
