About Edward Pitta

Chief Pitta was the executive officer of the 200-member municipal fire department for the City of Lowell, MA. Overall responsibility for all aspects of the fire department including emergency response operations, administration, finance, and addressing union concerns. Served as the Department’s representative to various boards and committees, and communicated directly with the City Administration, City Council, and other political agencies. Was also the Emergency Management Director for the city, which involved extensive collaboration with the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency during times of disasters and emergencies, as well as during pre-planned events.A 36-year member of the Lowell Fire Department, Chief Pitta also held the positions of Lieutenant, Captain, and Deputy Fire Chief.
