My main focus was developing computational methods dealing with pore network connectivity within experimental MicroCT images generated by Penn State. My role was developing non-Darcy flow methods, using various marching schemes, connectivity patterns, and imagine generation.An additional focus was developing experimental and computation methods for examining Waste Isolation Pilot Project (WIPP) salt samples with both neutron and gamma radiation to determine crystalline degradation and color change of salt samples. My role in this project was developing implicit stochastic methods and simulations capable of capturing the intricate details needed for the long-term storage of nuclear waste. My other role in this project was collecting salt samples with a team of geoscientist and coordinating the experimental design with various Sandia radiation facilities.I have extensive software engineering management experience, highlighted by my work on CANARY, an R&D 100 award-winning project, and the Monte Carlo N-Particle (MCNP) transport code. My key focus for CANARY involved developing advanced computational methods to analyze IoT sensor connectivity within public water supply systems to detect anomalies in water chemistry. My key focus for MCNP involved developing a delayed gamma reaction function from nuclear cross data and sensitivity analysis and uncertainty quantification methods for derived nuclear cross section data.

My work focused on validation methods of MCNP/X Burnup function with several different transmutation libraries. This led to the development of innovative methods focusing on implicit 3-D Monte Carlo burnup calculations of full-core gas-cooled reactors. Another focus of my work was on developing counter-terrorism and special nuclear material smuggling detection applications. My role on these projects was creating a graphic user interface, which was able to take CAD drawings from various platforms and transform them into a format that our Monte Carlo simulation software package could read. My other role for the project was the development of a machine learning algorithm capable of distinguishing nuclear interaction signals to reduce false-positives in real-world applications. Those projects where funded by DTRA, DNDO, and DHS.Another focus of my was developing hyperspectral imaging analysis methods for soil analysis in west Texas and east New Mexico. My role in this project was developing a machine-learning algorithm for signal detection and characterization, based on experimental results performed by Texas A&M and the University of New Mexico.
