I am an experienced Chief Executive, focused on making a difference, leading by example and facilitating positive performance and development of team members. I have 21 years’ experience as Chief Executive within the racing industry, with trustee and governance experience on a number of racing affiliated entities. I have also contributed to racing globally, chairing international liaison committees, along with organising the 2007 World Trotting Conference.HRNZ is the principal body for the conduct of harness racing in NZ under the Racing Act. It is responsible for industry strategy, policy, rules, funding, dates, systems and integrity. As CEO, I developed and led the implementation of strategic and business plans. I developed effective relationships across a wide spectrum, including Government, NZ Racing Board, TAB, other racing codes, clubs and international administration and wagering operators. During my tenure, staffing levels ranged from 35 to 28 FTE’s, with an annual operating expenditure of $50m. Prior to HRNZ, I had two years’ experience in senior management in a local authority and nine years as an auditor/audit manager.
