As a PCA --- Standing for a Personal Care Assistant --- I was hired to help a disabled lady's basic home needs. This job is in the healthcare field and involves hands-on care and assistive activities, like helping take out trash, fold laundry, do cleaning, cleaning the hair off of my employer's wheelchair (in her specific circumstance). PCA work involves helping disabled and other individuals who have a need and struggle to take care of themselves.
