I've been blowing glass since 1984 where I first learned about it at The University of Illinois, Chamapign-Urbana.After my study abroad program in Austria ended in the following year, I finished up my first degree B.A. Germanic Languages and Literatures in 1987. In 1988, I received my B.F.A. in Glass from the same instituition.Two Years later, in 1990, I completed my M.F.A. in Glass at The Ohio State University, where I began my teaching career.in 1993 I wrote my first book, "Ed's Big Handbook of Glassblowing" (now out-of-print). In 1997, I self-published my second book: "Advanced Glassworking Techniques" and the following year revised and improved my first book to become "Beginning Glassblowing".I've been all over the world teaching and spreading the news of how fun and engaging glassblowing can be.
