I have spent multiple terms at jobs in quality control at machine shops, the most recent was a 23 year stretch. In between jobs I attended college studying both Industrial Engineering and History. Ran out of money so was unable to finish the degree, then got married and raised a family. While I was in college I discovered my aptitude for quality control is very easy to apply to other jobs - in that case I worked in the college library in government documents and had a tendency to drive my supervisors a bit crazy finding problems in both shelving and cataloging - it just comes naturally to me. To this day I still find myself doing the same in everything I do. In 2007 I had bypass heart surgery and managed to continue working the long hours required at my last job for another 5 years but eventually some side effects from being a type 1 diabetic started to make it impossible for me to stay standing on my feet for 11 1/2 hours a day, so I finally gave in and applied for disability. I still want to work and feel I can use my abilities in some way to help in almost any form of business, ideally in a part-time position that would allow me to not need to be on my feet extended hours. I am open to most anything. I would prefer to not relocate but again open to any offers.
