CurrentProviding supervision to Animal Services Officers, being a liaison between the Animal Services Officers and the Animal Services Manager, humanely impounding lost and injured animals, investigating animal bite cases and inspects allegations of animal nuisances. Enforcing animal related city ordinances and state laws regarding rabies control and animal cruelty. Resolving conflict between citizens, and providing programs that encourage responsible pet ownership. Inspecting pet stores; Inspecting veterinary clinics; Inspecting horse stables; Inspecting dog grooming facilities; Preparing animal bite reports and other pertinent documentation; Accompanying police officers during warrant service when animals are present; Assisting Animal Service Officers in caring for impounded animals; Set schedules and assigns workloads to meet customer demands. Authorizes requests for leave. Performs quality control activities such as reviewing reports and performing standardizations. Mediate low & mid level customer/citizen complaints. Orders supplies for shelter and field activities. Provides guidance on enforcement questions and assists with dangerous dog evaluations. Provide input on disciplinary actions, performance evaluations and when hiring new employees.
