I like cars. I always have done, and I always will. A childhood dream of being a racing driver was never really going to take off, however, to contribute to the force behind those who did indeed succeed is the next best thing. To work behind the scenes on a project that could directly improve the performance of a vehicle, pushing the company forward, that is what I want to do.I am a student at Sheffield Hallam University studying Automotive Engineering. Learning about how those sensational, eye-catching vehicles that peaked my interest as a seven-year-old watching Top Gear actually work is captivating. At level four I studied the backbone of engineering theory as well as partook in practical lab work, which set me up excellently to specialise to the Automotive sector at level 5.I am currently the assembly line intern at Rolls Royce Motor Cars. This year I will improve and gain new skills, making the most of this special opportunity. Through University I have excellent time management, analysis and communication skills, coupled with proficient general IT skills however this year I can specialise in the field I have so much interest in.Cars are not just some numbers on a Top Trumps card, they are an intricately designed mechanical system. I cannot help but look forward to a career in the industry.
