It Product ManagerFirst American Title Apr 2018 - Feb 2020Santa Ana, Ca, UsI am responsible for each item in the Customer Facing Technology (CFT) product backlog from its inception to closure. We provide technology solutions to buyers, sellers, homebuilders, and real estate agents that securely provide information about their transaction. When an idea is generated or a problem occurs, I assist the Product Owner (PO) in clarifying that idea into one user story that can be taken care of in a sprint or multiple user stories that can take multiple sprints to complete, I keep refining the backlog with our team Bengaluru, India until the monthly sprint cycle starts. During the sprint, I provide clarifications and provide early feedback on behalf of the PO. At the end, the team and I review it with the PO and we repeat the cycle until the whole feature is complete.Aside from managing the sprint, I also help plan releases for 4 other teams to ensure that interdependent changes with other applications are aligned. In addition, I look for any architectural changes, that may impact our releases like server upgrades, security patches, etc.In between those activities, I provide feedback not only to our teams, but for other teams on how to use the tools to manage their work. People come to me for advice on Team Foundation Server and Microsoft Teams. I also ensure that our teams follow the same process so that our stakeholders can easily understand the status of their items in the backlog. Since I'm a fast learner and organized, other teams mimic how I implement these processes and tools to increase productivity within our group. It also helps that I communicate well across cultures, time zones, and vertically from top to bottom of our reporting structure. -
