As a senior test technician, I assemble, test, calibrate, and troubleshoot complex pressure-sensing devices within engineering and manufacturing environments. Engineering Aide Lead/Master Technician
At Eaton I promoted to leadership role while continuing to perform duties of engineering aide. I Oversaw the department which included coordinating the workload of the team. Providing guidance on and collaborated with the engineering team on new product design/development. I offered recommendations to meet customer needs and provided alternatives to ensure viability. I was responsible for balancing the workload of the department by assigning projects to lab staff.Specific actions I took to improve workflow were:I created new standard operating procedure (SOP) for requesting department work order that detailed assigned engineer as well as associated log sheets that showed request and completion times. Distributed to all site leads. This improved documentation of work and allowed engineering and site leads to check status of parts. I developed a spreadsheet to inventory 500+ pieces of lab equipment that required regular maintenance and calibration noting their location within the faclity. This reduced time locating items from hours (sometimes days) to only 30 minutes. This identified the need when setting up tests to arrange for early calibration if needed to prevent equipment changes mid-testing and allowed for easier process of creating equipment lists.I implemented an organized electronic filing system for project information, which was previously maintained separately by individual team members. I wrote a guide document detailing how to store and label project information, thereby making it easier for engineers to access all files and creating a more uniform system.I motivated team members by communicating and setting expectations and promoting open dialogue to brainstorm new ideas; encouraged mutual understanding, respect, and ownership.Additionally I oversaw safety protocols for 11 labs as safety team leader of test lab resource group (2015 – 2018) and Served as 5S lean coordinator in engineering lab (2017 – 2020).
