Physician and Laboratory billing for the USC network. Follow up on previously billed unpaid claims. Communicate with physicians to insure coding accuracy. Handle patient inquiries on unpaid balances. Posting of insurance payments in billing system. Proper record keeping for easy location if secondary review is needed.

Maintain a record of unpaid/outstanding Medicare/commercial insurance claims. Posting payments into our billing system and maintain our EOB filing/tracking for easy reference. Handle patient inquiries over the phone, taking credit card payments and posting into the billing system. Follow up on insurance claims via the internet/phone and by correspondence. Maintain an open line of communication with management regarding our outstanding claims and how much staff would be needed to complete the back log. Assign and track the work of our collectors and report to management. Process refunds due to patients and various insurance carriers.

Overview of policies and benefits offered to new employees, responsible for assuring that all necessary documentation for employment are signed by new employees. Training new insurance follow up collectors on system operations, proper collection procedures, reading contracts and applying to individual accounts. Also responsible for re-training of existing employees on newly implemented policies and procedures. Part of a two person management team for a 50+ employee department. Guiding and assisting my employees to complete their daily tasks. Monitoring and disciplining employees as needed.
