Edward Davies is a Chartered Architect who has a wide range of experience in the education, student accommodation, office, retail, leisure and residential sectors.In being employed by the largest architectural practice in the south west, Edward has been involved with a number of high profile schemes including gaining planning consent for a 442 bed student accommodation development based within a Conservation Area in Bristol city centre. Given the sensitivity and political nature of the scheme, as the proposed building would result in the loss of Bristol Ice Rink, Edward undertook a wide range of stakeholder meetings and presentations to ensure the scheme was granted consent. Edward’s more recent focus has been within the education sector and includes being the Project Architect for ‘Parkfield’s Free School’ in Bournemouth which opened in September 2013. In addition, Edward has been involved with the planning submission and production information stage for an extension to Winton Primary School in Bournemouth, as well as acting as the Contractor Administrator for the refurbishment of the Main Hall at Red Maid’s School in Bristol. Edward has also undertaken feasibility work for Bournemouth University and their Media School. The study analysed their existing space and following consultation with each department identified where additional space is required in order for the Media School to grow. When time permits Edward enjoys designing for domestic clients whether it be a new build house, an extension or a loft conversion. Edward has overseen the refurbishment and extension of Marjam House, located in the Leigh Woods Conservation Area, close to the Clifton Suspension Bridge.Outside of the architectural world Edward enjoys both watching and participating in most sports, with a particular interest in cricket and rugby.
