• Approached PwC with proposal for property restructuring and insolvency service line, given weakening market sentiment• Maximised existing relationships internally and externally to identify opportunities for the restructuring and insolvency of heavily indebted property investors and developers• Recruited and managed day-to-day a team of 18 property experts to deal with the increasing demand for the service offering• Awarded Estates Review Property Insolvency Team of the Year in 2009 Notable projects included:• Chosen by RBS to undertake the insolvency of 8 stucco-fronted Grade II* listed houses at Grosvenor Crescent, Belgravia, London, being developed into 14 super-prime flats worth £200m. The development required the appointment of a replacement development manager, and a reworking of the scheme to ensure that it was appropriate for its target market, with the outcome that all RBS debt was repaid. • Seconded to HSBC to implement the disposal of the £800m HSBC Tower, Docklands, dealing with all structural aspects of the transaction. • Lehman Brothers Europe Administration. Oversaw day-to-day the property investment and development division of the bank during administration, which totaled some €8 billion in underlying asset value.

Responsible for the financial, legal, debt negotiation, corporate and tax structuring aspects of each property transaction within a number of closed and open ended property funds, which together owned property assets of £980 million. Working alongside the divisional investment director, and with a team of nine surveyors and accountants, I oversaw disposals totalling around £250 million and acquisitions totalling around £550 million over a period of three years.
