I am unwavering with leadership that makes a difference. I’m enjoying a career that continues to serve private business, non-profits, government agencies and the military. I learned early in life that seeking challenges & solving them provides a great deal of satisfaction. My father was a building contractor so my summers entailed the dirtiest of jobs. Every project was mine to own, and I quickly realized that I could start anything from scratch, and with determination & hard work, see it through to successful completion. Re: Quality, the work had to be 100%...no flaws accepted! I also learned that reputation is earned—if you have to repair an imperfection, earned value is lost.Effective leadership provides the conduit for personal growth and paves the way to even more challenging accomplishments. I enjoy the synergistic outcomes from collaborating with a focused team, yielding results that improve a variety of conditions as well as the bottom line. One of my most satisfying experiences involved the initial implementation of Environmental Sustainability in the construction & waste management industry. That effort involved the Federal Green Highways Partnership, the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) reductions in fuel consumptions & leading diverse teams in the process.Last but not least I'm committed to volunteer service to the military, prison ministry & youth groups. As a veteran I continue my service to others, which includes my position on the Howard County Commission for Veterans and Military Families.SPECIALTIES:Environmental Protection Programs, Regulatory Compliance, Sustainability, LEED, Ecosystem Pollution, Wastewater Transfer, Solid Waste, RCRA, EPA Compliance, Clean Water Act, Clean Air Act, Data Monitoring & Metrics, Community Relations, Resident & Business Buy-in, Collaborative Problem-Solving, Site Improvement Solutions, Project Management, OSHA Federal & State Compliance, Performance Management, Mentoring

Environmental Advocate & Consultant | Federal, State And Local Governments & Private IndustryE-Associates, Llc 2009 - PresentWashington D.C. Metro AreaI founded E-Associates to provide Environmental Consulting to Federal, State and Local governments as well as private industry. In addition to assessing hazards and sustainability, we also provide judicious advocacy services related to the consequences and penalties that result from environmental enforcement actions and other regulatory constraints. As a result, we serve multiple customers & target audiences in the region, including local citizens and businesses, emergency responders, and Emergency Management staff. One of our specialties is the identification of potential hazards and sustainability issues in various Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) jurisdictions across major metro areas like Washington, DC. With grant funds progressively dwindling, local governments need and want to focus on fiscal responsibility and the dependability of their services and infrastructure. We quickly identify the hazards in a region and then recommend hazard abatement to maintain emergency response capabilities in the jurisdiction. Our successful process includes:► Conducting surveys of UASI jurisdictions, such as Montgomery County and Baltimore County in Maryland, Fairfax County in Virginia and Washington, DC► Reviewing planning and operational elements to identify gaps that affect sustainable police and fire response capabilities► Developing a matrix of identified differences, positive and negative► Establishing requirements for quality, risk, schedule, cost, and communication ► Delivering remedial recommendations and corrective measures to decrease the risk of harm► Closing the project in a timely manner.I became involved in environmental advocacy in the late ‘80s during my tenure with the Montgomery County DEP. My interest in working with regulators to protect the taxpayers assets–especially when the scope of a standard interferes with process—is a service that we continue to provide to local communities.
