When I sit down with clients, we talk about money, of course, but just as importantly, we talk about possibilities – living their dream in retirement, providing the best education for their kids, sleeping comfortably through a market decline or having a concrete business succession plan, for example. We focus on their possibilities – their goals – and the financial strategies to get them there. In high school, I played the investing game. In life, though, investing is no game. So, I take care to truly understand each client's goals and the purpose for their money, to determine how much risk they're comfortable assuming and to help them avoid the temptation of market timing and "hot stocks." I want every client to feel confident and secure in their financial situation. Before joining Edward Jones in 2009, I owned a successful automotive business for 15 years. So, I understand first-hand the realities of juggling personal and professional needs and balancing competing short- and long-term goals. Now in my practice, these are exactly the things I help clients work through every day. When I opened my practice, Edward Jones was my first choice because of their client-first philosophy and spirit of partnership. Over the years, I've volunteered in roles like field trainer, mentor and new financial advisor leader to support our newer financial advisors as they get their footing. In 2019, I became a limited partner. From my Smithfield (NC) office, I serve both local and out-of-state clients – business owners, professionals, pre-retirees, retirees, high-net-worth individuals with complex financial needs and non-profits. I work side-by-side with Krystal Parker, our branch office administrator, who keeps things organized and efficient. Krystal has been with Edward Jones for five years and was also in banking for 13 years. Our office is warm and inviting, and we welcome those who stop in simply for a chat and a cup of coffee. I’m a dedicated Rotarian of nearly 10 years, serving as president/past president of the Central Johnston Rotary Club and have been named a Paul Harris Fellow multiple times.
