I worked for Adam Architecture for a period of two months in the summer of 2016. I worked in a team for the drawing office, detailing for live projects. The knowledge I gained from this experience has enabled me to understand the wider role of a technologist. I had opportunities to visit live sites whilst at Adam which were very exciting, this gave me an insight into how live projects work on site and the relationships between contractors and architects. Furthermore I was able to see how materials and construction techniques work in person. Working in the office and detailing showed me the scale of depth that projects go to. For example I detailed products and materials in depth such as: wall render, flashing's and cavity trays to their specific NBS and specifications. This was valuable practise as it opened my eyes to how intricate detailing can be on a live project within industry. Another valuable experience was initially working on specifications of which I gained practise from an administrative point of view - a greater part of the job than I had previously expected.
