Edward McGowan has over 15 years of experience in the nursing field in areas such as Emergency Medicine, Operating Rooms, Post Anesthetic Care and Surgical day Care. As a stuff nurse, Edward spent most of his time in the Operating room where he worked mainly with ENT, Neurosurgery and the transplant team before transitioning to a leadership role. As an OR leader, Edward was able to successfully coordinate care for over 10,000 patients annually and use LEAN methodologies to ensure maximize utilization, create a safe working environment and increase the safety of patients. He used his experience in the OR to successfully duplicate the same care and efficiencies in the Emergency department where he coordinated one of south western Ontario’s busiest ER’s.In 2017, Edward accepted the challenge of working to develop Ontario’s first stand-alone multi disciplined ambulatory surgical center. As the Surgical Manager Edward works with the 14 surgeons on the roster and facilitates the surgical care of their patients.
