About Edward Melcher
I love to solve problems using data and passionate about the geospatial industry. I began this path by taking GIS in University and a post graduate certificate. This ended up in the lidar industry, which I did not know at the time. 13 years later, I became deeply knowledgeable in lidar: Validating sensors, QAQC of lidar and photogrammetry surveys, and troubleshooting sensors. Collaborating with customers was one of the enjoyments by making sure customers are successful with the lidar sensors. Training over 50 clients, delivering over 40 sensors to 15 countries.I took this knowledge and worked from the client side with a start-up. Working on a team that delivered large lidar and photogrammetry products through in-house created cloud software. This started my journey into the product sphere as a product owner utilize a full agile environment. The end of this chapter happened when this company was acquired.This started my journey into product management. Utilizing data analysis to help in researching which products to develop that will meet the customer needs.I pride myself as a analytical, critical thinker, problem solver, adaptable, and empathic.
