About Edward Nester
I'm a J.D. Candidate at UCI Law for the class of 2025. My current interests are in Intellectual Property, specifically in patent litigation or prosecution. I studied Biomedical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Utah and graduated in Spring, 2021. Having worked both prior to and all through college to support myself and my family, I have a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. As a person of color in STEM, and now in Law, I recognize and value the power of diversity and seek to empower all communities that I am a part of.In my undergraduate program I minored in Computer Science, and I have a wide range of skills and experiences. Most of my work has been done in small teams of 2-6 people, practicing development schema like AGILE and Waterfall models for software development and medical device design respectively. In my 5 years of university, I spent 2 of those years working in medical device design and 1.5 years working on software development. I augmented this experience with my professional time as a freelance web developer and technologist, helping create websites and support general IT infrastructure for small businesses and school districts.In my spare time, I like to read, reverse engineer video games, and play Magic the Gathering with my friends.
