In July 2013 I was hired as District Manager for our West region (as many as 10 direct reports). In May 2016 my role expanded to include our South Central Region (as many as 25 direct reports). I have work assignment responsibilities for ~40% of North America, including Mexico. Other responsibilities included recruitment, employee development, process/systems efficiency improvement, training and special projects. In 2017, I helped develop a project module for the Enterprise Data Application (EDA) and in 2019 I also added management responsibilities for the Project and Plan Review Services at GRC.

In November 2014 I expanded my District Management role to include responsibilities for improving the Account Engineering practices and processes. In this role I provided direction, training and consultation to numerous Account Engineers in the Western US and South America. I transitioned out of this role when I assumed additional District Management responsibilities in May 2016.

I was promoted to “Head of Property Consulting Engineering - Americas & Asia-Pacific” in January 2010 until I left the company in June 2013. This was a dual role where I had 17 direct reports in the US and Canada as well as 10 functional reports globally. In addition to my managerial responsibilities, I worked with our global teams to oversee our standards, procedures and systems. The goal was to continuously improve our efficiencies and technical quality.

I was promoted to "Engineering Manager” in July 2006 where I had as many as eight direct reports. In this capacity I continued to help develop various standards and procedures and served in various capacities on the “ARCNET” project teams (large integrated engineering application). Throughout this period I continued to support and develop “AAM”. In addition, I also developed two complex MS Access queries for mining data from our legacy ARC2 system, which helped to run our work assignment processes. I also helped to develop a “Windstorm Tool” based on FM methodology.

I was initially employed as an “Account Engineer” from July 2005 to July 2006. Responsibilities included coordinating the loss control activities of Consulting Engineers, consulting with clients at the corporate level, and working closely with underwriters in the risk selection process. My most important contribution was to develop the “AAM Database”, which was adopted by the US operation to run the Account Engineering practice. I also participated on a large global project called “GREAT” (property rating, data tracking and reporting system).

I was promoted to “Managing Consultant – Technical” in May 2002 and transferred to GC to serve as part of the management team. Responsibilities include technical referral, technical bulletin development, procedure and tool development, managing engineering audits for the RM&G division, and managing software development and support for “QRS”.

I was promoted to “Account Manager” in July 2000 and relocated to the Chicago Loop Office to work for the Risk Management & Global (RM&G) division. Responsibilities included coordinating the loss control activities of Global Consulting (GC), consulting with clients at the corporate level and working closely with underwriters in the risk selection process. My most important contribution was the development of the “Account Management Database”, which was adopted by the US RM&G operation. I won awards for technical excellence in both 2000 and 2001.

I was initially employed as a “Senior Property Loss Control Technical Specialist” in Cleveland Ohio from August 1999 to July 2000. During this period, I worked closely with a production underwriter to service domestic clients and evaluate prospective clients. Responsibilities included account coordination, writing loss control surveys, conducting plan review, presentations, etc.

I was employed at the Protection Mutual Cleveland Branch Office from June 1995 to May 1998 as an “Account Engineer”. I was promoted to “Sr. Account Engineer” in May 1998 and worked through July 1999. Responsibilities included coordinating the loss control activities of FM, consulting with clients at the corporate level and working closely with underwriters and marketing representatives in the risk selection process. In this position I gained valuable expertise with “Steel Mill” and “Utility” occupancy, spent considerable time consulting on a "$1.2B Steel Mill construction project” and served on the Inter-company "Y2K Molten Metal" task force.

Indianapolis, Indiana Area

Employed at the Cleveland District Office from September 1987 to June 1995. I originally worked in Cleveland, OH then relocated to Indianapolis, IN in 1989. Responsibilities included consulting with insured on property loss control issues by performing loss prevention inspections, generating reports, and managing many projects. I was responsible for training new hires and for providing ongoing technical assistance to coworkers. I served as chairperson for the "Field Consultant Action Team", and as a member on the "Training Action Team". Additionally, I served on a corporate task force on "Digital Process Control Systems".
