Organization continues to work towards our mission of ensuring latinx and immigrant youth are prepared for and graduate from college, utilizing higher education as an equity tool. Now providing programming at 13 San Francisco schools and 3 college-access programs to over 5,000 youth and parents a year. With an organizational budget of $10 million, we employ 125 community leaders and teachers.

City College Of San Francisco

Developed and taught curricula for undergraduate course addressing the relationship issues of gay men. Created and presented curricula for Human Sexuality, a licensing required course for social workers and therapists to understand aspects of Human Sexuality.

Served as a Board member for the North Bay's premiere non-profit resource and volunteer center.

San Rafael, Ca

Responsible for strategic direction of organization and oversight of all agency operations. During tenure, oversaw program expansion responsible for boosting number of youth from 225 to over 1,600 and full time staff from 5 to 21. Increased budget from $400 K to $1.5 million through aggressive pursuit of grants, contracts, individual donors, corporate partnerships, and fundraising events. Executed individual donor campaigns, raising over $200 K annually. Produced 4 fundraising events annually with revenues exceeding $340 K. Diversified revenue streams to minimize dependence on any single source. Increased grant revenue from $50K to $800 K annually by securing federal, state, local contracts and foundation grants. Authored business plan and strategic vision of agency. Significantly expanded organization into new service area. Initiated and led a successful merger with sister organization. Developed agency budget. Created systems of program implementation, grants management, fund development, and operations to reflect the tremendous growth of the organization. Built strategic community partnerships and service collaborations. Advocated for needs of youth at the local, state, and federal level.

San Francisco Bay Area

Created curricula and program structure for the Institute’s prevention programs, spanning three counties. Programs were recognized nationally by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as “Exemplary Programs” for engaging youth in Prevention field. Administered trainings and technical assistance in areas of Youth Development, Youth/Adult Partnerships, Alcohol Policy, and Environmental Prevention. Responsible for development and submission of grants for prevention programs. Conducted training for staff, interns, community allies, and youth participants. Provided supervision and oversight of 11 staff and interns. Ensured contract compliance with funding agents, and submitted billings and reports.

San Anselmo, Ca

Managed and expanded 3 agency programs: Rainbow’s End support group, Speaker’s Bureau, and the Educational Task Force. Coordinated support and services to Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Questioning (LGBTQ) individuals 23 and under. Conducted trainings to school and counseled staff on the issues of LGBTQ Youth. Advocated for LGBTQ youth at the school, local, and state level. Supervised 3 program staff and over 30 volunteers.
