Responsible for building and maintaining connections within the scientific community in order to promote integration of Microlytic's novel protein crystallization products into academic and industry labs. Main activities include providing on-site training, demonstrations, and technical support of products, in addition to managing and evaluating data from collaborating labs. Also tasked with working with scientists (both internal and external) to develop new products and tools for the scientific community. In January 2015, Microlytic was acquired by Anatrace Products, LLC.

Research associate in the laboratory of Dr. Michael Wiener. The Wiener Lab is a member of the Membrane Protein Structural Biology Consortium (MPSBC), one of nine PSI-biology funded structural genomics centers for membrane protein structure determination. Roles in this consortium include the selection, design, expression, purification, crystallization and structure determination of membrane protein targets. Main research advancements include the crystallization and structure determination of the integral membrane CaaX protease, Ste24p.

Taught both lecture and laboratory of CSC101 - Introduction to Computer Science during the summer session. This course is an introduction to the organization and use of computers. Responsible for creating lecture materials, designing laboratory exercises, and assessing students work.

Advisor: Dr. Jacquelyn S. FetrowThesis Topic: A tool called PASSS was developed to identify and compare similarities between the three dimensional structures of proteins. This effort is an attempt to extrapolate function from known proteins to unknown proteins. This tool is useful in structural genomics initiatives and medical science where knowing the active site structure will assist in identifying molecules that can modulate a proteins function, which is particularly important in drug discovery.

Advisor: Dr. Thomas Hollis.Thesis Topic: Utilizing X-ray crystallography, Biophysical, Biochemical, and in vivo methods to determine how the three domains of the transcription factor AmrZ cooperatively work together to both activate and repress potent Pseudomonas aeruginosa virulence genes. Chronic lung infection by Pseudomonas aeruginosa is one of the leading causes of death in patients with the genetic disease cystic fibrosis. This project is a collaboration with Dr. Daniel Wozniak from The Ohio State University.
