I've designed machines from various approaches, currently I am a mechanical engineer on the design and automation team at the Appleton campus in the Medical Products Division of W.L. Gore. I have also been an OEM, Systems Integrator, R&D Engineer, and Consultant. I value my breadth of experiences and perspectives because it has helped me design better machines that satisfy my customers, are operator friendly, productive and cost effective. Made the move here to experience and learn to work in a unique business environment and culture. Everyone is an associate and I do not report to anyone. Couldn't have asked for a better whirlwind project to experience the start to finish process for Medical Device launch. 1st project lasted over 2 years, collecting a number of new products along the way and transferring them all into full production. Since then, I have been designing and supporting new machines throughout our product lines, with a new challenge with each one. Recently my duties transferred to manufacturing engineering at our location, focusing on equipment. As diverse as our processes are in our plant, it's given me new opportunities to learn and develop expertise in even more technologies. My expertise ranges from tooling design, to controls integration to process capability analysis and development. -

Hated to leave some staff behind but change in business wasn't right for me. Two Patents for products that are still sold today. -

Learned the whole logistics and distribution business from expert senior partners. The company used my background in mechanical engineering to do some design work. Learned a lot about business by meeting and presenting to clients as a fresh college graduate. Still use what I learned about what is efficient to this day. What works hasn't changed much, just the catch phrases and methods of teaching it.
