After two full time jobs in IT after leaving school, I started working as a software developer at Midland Bank in their Overseas Support Division, where we created MIMOSA, a derivative of the IBIS Banking Application written in RPG on the IBM iSeries platform. It is here where I developed my interest in banking systems, coupled with many opportunities for short and long term travel to the banks overseas locations.After leaving Midland following their merger with HSBC, I moved on to Creditanstalt which was starting a similar exercise of building their own banking system based around IBIS.I began contracting in 1993 after joining Financial Objects specifically to provide support to their South East Asia banking clients, where I was based out of Singapore.
