Architect of the "Wahlburgers" restaurant concept.Executed the "oh-that's a good idea" into reality.Wrote business plan on a Shake Shack napkin.Original inspiration, Steele Platt's legendary Yard House collides with Danny Meyer's iconic Shake Shake. Born: A well designed burger joint with lots of beer on tap and great tunes.Found the location/ provided the vision for design and layout for our GO-to architect/designer Stephen Sousa.Created the "hybrid" dining exprerience- customer choice- full waiter/bar service or fast casual counter service.Created color scheme "Green" for logo and restaurant look.Hired the GREAT Lisa Corrado to help create awesome logo, fonts and brand image I envisioned.Negotiated the lease, structure, term, and TI dollars, with the BEST EVER, Robin Mosle of Samuels and Associates.Brought in the bad ass building team for construction, design and constant ball busting for Wahlburgers. The dynamic duo of Tom Bavin and Jim Piquette of T&S Construction. Same pair who built Alma Nove.Cold called Bill Grays/Tom Wahl CEO John Gonzalez to negotiate( 3 long months) a final executed licensing agreement for right to use of their Wahlburgers trademark.Created the burger size(ounces) to ensure quality and speed needed for volume and decided on the type of griddle (chrome plated) to have the best tasting burgers cooked on. Created the secret seasoning blend that would go on the burgers.Found/sourced our meat purveyor- Pat La Fredia's Meats in NJ- worked with the VERY cool President Mark Pastore, to craft the perfect meat blend and patty size to serve at Wahlburgers. Negotiated the meat pricing with Mr. Pastore.Coined the name -Wahlbrewski-a private label IPA(Harpoon), with numero uno employee hired, Mgr Mike "Studly" Finneran..a customer/employee fav.Created the tag line- Burger-Fries-Frappes and Tunes.Co-wrote and created- Our Family, Our Story, Our Burger. Developed and created all music for Wahlburgers.

Jun 2010 - Present

Co-Founder Alma Nove

Hingham, Ma, Us

Idea conceived in summer of 2004- Hull MA…. A 20 year dreamer… Chef Paul Wahlberg..meets me…a 20 year entrepreneur and I ask him.. "You ever think of doing this on your own?"Found location at “The Launch” Hingham Shipyard a new mix-used project in 2006. Penned the business plan in 2008 and created the concept’s name Alma Nove and moniker A9.Negotiated the lease and structure… Kept the deal alive (barely) during economic meltdown in 2008/09, with the ever patient and relentless Robin Mosle of Samuels & Associates. Co-developed the design and layout with the VERY talented Stephen Sousa of Sousa Design, to deliver the vision and “California” feel to A9.Brought the first outdoor fire pit and glass enclosed patio to the area- inspired by Newport Beach (OC restaurants) a’ la Gulfstream and Pelican Grill.Hired the best tandem in the biz… to build the restaurant… Tom Bavin and Jim Piquette… they brought amazing insight and professionalism to our project...and understood the vision needed to be built. Consulted with long time friend and the self proclaimed “King of Anaheim” ( I believe now Brea) Don Myers. He brought 30 years of insight for front of the house and restaurant design to our team… He introduced me to our opening day GM, Rob Rice, a restaurant manager from Los Angeles.First year revenue, generated $ 4,500,000 in revenue….and for you retailers… it equates to just under $ 1,500 per square foot.Built and opened a restaurant in the worst economic time ever… people thought it was crazy… let alone risky…. Every possible chip stacked against opening a restaurant…never mind being undercapitalized..However, don’t ever underestimate the power of believing and having the NEVER give up attitude. It can do amazing things.Countless people to thank for making this vision a reality..Three people who went above and beyond are Jamal Weathers…Larry Houghton and Mike Wekerle (aka “WEK”)

Co-Founder American Capital Group

Laguna Hills, California, Us

Founded and created American Capital Group.Drafted the original business plan in 1995. Idea conceived when I recognized that majority of small business financing/leasing companies in 1993/94 were out-of-date business models( stuck in the early 80’s)… A huge opportunity existed to utilize technology and automation in sales and operations. This better served our customers and employees… “Competition brought bow and arrows…we brought F-15’s” Cold called our first bank line (funding source) GE Capital/Tilden in 1995. Tony Fantauzzi, Senior VP… He took a leap of faith in ACG and believed what this 25 year old kid had to say.Established relationships with all our bank lines… GE Capital, Manifest Funding ( a division of Schwans), Bombardier Capital, Imperial Capital, Granite Financial, Centerpoint Financial, Financial Pacific, Bank of the West, Union Bank of California, First Sierra, Colonial Pacific, Pawnee, United Funding, Oakmont Financial, and Republic Leasing…and others.Assembled the most talented, young, energetic team in the industry… At ACG, we worked hard, played hard, and created one of the Best places to work in Orange County.Created and oversaw the entire operations department ( credit, funding, risk analysis).. handed off to our second employee hired, the unbelievable (at office no later than 5am) Tracy Smith..I created it… she owned it and re-wrote it… established the best in practice policies in the industry as our VP of Operations.Led our sales efforts and grew us into one of the largest independent finance companies in the United States. Our sales team was led by Davie Lee and Ofer Horn…two leaders with exceptional sales and leadership skills.Developed/created our Portfolio management/Compliance Department. Opened our second office in San Francisco in 1997.2001 American Capital Group was recognized by INC magazine in the * INC 500 Fastest growing companies in the United States* Ranked # 46 with a 4,084% - 3 year growth.
