Finance Director business partnering global product teams (GPT). An expanding role initially as part of a Finance "Task force" supporting the setup of the Oncology business unit concluding in the position of Franchise Finance Director. In this role I was a member of the Franchise Leadership Team & Business Partner to the Global Franchise & Commercial VP. I provided oversight to the full Franchise P&L from sales though to net operating profit. This involved regular financial reporting & presentation, understanding of key drivers of performance, financial analysis to support development of the franchise strategy and then financial planning enabling the delivery of that strategy. A critical & significant part of the role was the highly important alliance with Merck. This Alliance involved significant internal & external collaboration plus financial co-ordination & negotiation. I delivered critical financial input to the Joint Finance, Commercial & Steering committees in regards performance, forecasting & global settlements between the 2 companies. Efforts in this area were recognised in the receipt of the 2018 CFO award. I leveraged experience from this alliance to support the setup of Astrazeneca’s next major alliance with Daiichi Sankyo. This role included the recruitment and management of 1 FTE.

In this role I was part of the Leadership teams for both Personalised Healthcare & Biomarkers (PHB) & Neuroscience. In the course of managing the functional & project budget including FTE I delivered restructuring savings in both areas worth $28m per annum through business re-sizing and contract re-negotiations. I provided significant input into the genomics initiative providing security around the funding through prioritisation & close budget management, identifying saving opportunities & efficiencies where possible. I prepared & presented in conjunction with the VP’s the business plans to the Senior Executive Team lead & produced an overall IMED value evolution & ROI financial analysis.

I was also involved in the Almirall & Takeda respiratory portfolio integrations post merger and aquisition activity plus delivered finanicial modelling around key respiratory brands and their Life Cycle Management and Device Strategy development. I also delivered process improvement in business planning and report standardisation.
