Substitute Teacher for 2018-2019 School Year

Conduct tutorial groups for the following subjects: English, Math, History, Biology/Chemistry, Spanish etc. twice a week for the grades 9-12. Assist students with organizational skills. Conduct Tutor Training Workshops, Cornell Notes Workshops, and Tutorial Request Form Workshops. Check student organizational skills through a weekly binder check. A weekly binder check consists of daily agendas, Cornell notes, classroom essentials. Assist teachers with grading classroom assignments and inputting grades into the Aries grade database. Assist AVID program with organizing educational field trips to college campuses. Assist 12th grade students with personal statement writing/workshops, scholarship leads, college application process, FASFA, and SAT/ACT registration and preparation.

Tutor students K-12 in the subjects of Mathematics and English Language Arts. I gave students an assessment to check their strengths and weaknesses in either subject and were given after school home visits for tutoring. I tutored for Fresno Unified, Fowler Unified, and Selma Unified. Each student received individual tutoring at least 2 hours weekly. Tutor and Mentor for the Men and Women Alliance Program for Fresno Unified. This program is strictly for students in grades 9-12 who are considered at-risk youth. I tutored in the subject areas of English Language Arts and Mathematics. I have worked at the following high schools in Fresno Unified: Edison High School, Fresno High School, Roosevelt High School, and Bullard High School. Each session consisted of tutorial groups and organization preparation.
