• Served as interim Technical Director during a six-month transition period• Ensured performance, reliability, and security of national dial-up Internet access, international information networking, website hosting services, online conferencing, and mailing lists by contributing to the assessment and upgrade of these systems and performing 24-hour on-call duty• Provided technical advice to sister organizations around the world• Improved collaborative capabilities of subscribers by installing and making extensive improvements to a mailing list management and delivery system; helped implement a gateway between mailing lists and the online conferencing system• Ensured security for subscribed members that used various collaboration tools by installing, improving, and maintaining routers, firewalls, and security scanning mechanisms• Supported sister organization Nicarao in Managua, Nicaragua, during a month-long consultation visit in 1996 by upgrading and migrating their software systems and training their staff on the use of the new systems
