Dr Edward Watson MBchB MBA DRACOG FRNZCGPI'm a qualified medical physician with over 23 years experience in clinical trial research.Currently I am the CEO of Aotearoa Clinical Trials- a clinical trial network managing clinical trials in partnership with public hospitals throughout Aotearoa, New Zealand Previously i have worked in cancer research management and senior level management experience in several US based pharmaceutical companies including Pharmacia, Pfizer, Schering Plough and MSD, and have been chief operating officer of Medtral Limited.My consultancy experience encompasses many broad areas in health including:- development of pharmaceutical models for reimbursement (Canada, New Zealand)- product in licensing and funding (New Zealand , Australia)- product development boards and commercialization.- health insurance (USA, New Zealand and Pacific Islands)- cancer stakeholder engagement strategies- primary care health strategy developmentApart from my current role I have clinical trial experience including being the Principal Investigator for Phase I to Phase IV in multiple therapeutic areas and have been on the safety boards for multinational cancer trials in the Asia Pacific region including Japan.
